| DCC or Digital Command Control
What a DCC decoder does: It can make the locomotive stop, slow down, reverse direction, and dim its headlights.
How-it-works Basics:
- use a hand-held throttle to send information to a command station
- the command station transforms the information to a digital packet or signal and sends it to the booster
- the booster adds power to the digital signal and sends it along the track bus to the rails.
DCC decoders can be installed in any make engine.
Ask for information on installation in older units.
Total cost for a DCC decoder plus its installation in your engine: $60.
